How to maintain spirituality after Hajj?

Hajj is still the most important spiritual journey a Muslim can take in his or her life. Every year, millions of pilgrims go to Makkah to take part in the holy ceremonies there. They go to Haramain to pray to Allah the Most High. Hajj rituals start on the 8th of Dhu-al-Hijjah and go on until the 12th of Dhu-al-Hijjah. During this time, different hajj rituals must be done according to the sunnah of our Holy Prophet (SAWW). Islamic Travel is offers Hajj Packages which are quite cheaper as compare to the other travel agencies’ Packages.

Hajj is such a holy journey that it not only brings peace and calm to a pilgrim but also gives them a new view of what life is all about. But after the Hajj rituals are done and the pilgrims go back home to their families, they start to lose the spirituality they had gained during the pilgrimage. As they get busy with their daily lives, the lessons they hope to use for the rest of their lives and a sense of spirituality seem to fade away.

So, here are some things to do if you want to stay spiritual after hajj.

Consistency

Based on what our Holy Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW), said in a hadith, Allah loves a person's consistent good deeds the most, even if they are few in number. So, keep in mind that you don't have to keep up the same level of worship that you did during your Hajj trip. Work and social life make this clear. But if you can keep a few small goals that you can handle and do them with honesty and consistency, you're already ahead. In this way, you should: • Be on time for your daily prayer (salah); • Help other people; • Be kind and forgiving.

In short, the smallest, most honest acts of kindness are the ones that pay off the most.

Self-control

Remember that the rituals of pelting the Jamarat have a spiritual meaning? After you humiliated Shaytaan on the day of Arafah, when you threw stones at the Jamarat as part of the ritual, he is now even more determined to turn you bad. So, whenever you hear him whispering or feel temptations coming toward you, try to chase him away by picturing yourself pelting. The more you try to keep yourself in check, the easier it will be to stay away from many sins.

Protect yourself

Try your best to keep all kinds of physical, mental, and spiritual filth away from your senses at all times. You should stay away from the sights and sounds that might corrupt your heart and tempt you to sin. Whenever you see or hear something like this, try to get rid of its effects right away by thinking about something better and more important. In this case, the most important thing to do is to keep your eyes open and watch what you say.

Last but not least, make the most of every day and be thankful to Allah Almighty. Say as much Dhikr as you can and do as much Shukr as you can.
